Dr.ortiz industrial foods

The risk out weigh the benefit of indrestal food chain because in the book the author say that the food is cheap but that is not all the food is cheap because it is not as.Healthy and you can get disease and their is more bacteria in the cheaper food this is why it is so cheap.

Dr.Paul/Hooch

The benefits do not outweigh the risk because the risk are important. As I found in the text "meat is now cheap". This shows how farmers don't have to grow crops no more. The good don't outweigh the bad since "7% of kids ages 6-19 are obese". This shows how cheap meat lets people buy more of it therefore them becoming obese. We eat too much. This risk outweigh the benefits because saving money dosent go over life.

Mr.coulibaly

I agree that the risk does out weight the benefits of the industrial food chain because
There are more bad things that can happen to use because of waits in side the food
And how these can be dangerous to use because the bad thing it as in it.on detail is
"Cafes are huge soure of very toxic pollution "my second detail is that "7persent

Dr. Darling: industrial food

Yes i think that the risks do outweigh the benefits because i found more evidence for risks than the benefits ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ.The text states"7%  of kids ages 6-19 are obese."This sows one of the risks.

dr. jamila: industrial food

yes๐Ÿ™‹,the benefits are bad, the benefits are bad because humans are suppose to eat more than 2000 calories a day but all this fast food๐Ÿ”๐ŸŸ๐Ÿ• could be more than that if should be eaten more than twice๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ” a day which could lead to obesice and other health problems like diabetes and other which lead to shorter life span๐Ÿ˜”

Dr.Fana

The risk do outweigh the benefits of the industrial food chain because the risks have worse things.in the text it states, the result is a hybrid a disease resistant plant that produces a lot of corn.also, they might come from a bacteria or some other organism.finally,he horses began to disappear when farmers started buying tractors.

Dr.Simo Industrial Food

n
He Are Some More Risk & Benefits & Some Textual Facts From Omnivores Dilemma

Thee Risk Outweigh The Benefits Of The Industrial Food Chain Because Now Meat Is More Cheap Because Farmer Arent Raising The Cows Themselves So Its Quicker & Easier To Make The Meat & Helps Us Spend Less Money On Food Which Is A Big Risk Would You Rather Spend Less Money Or Die Young ?  & Then Its A Big Risk Because We May Become Obiest Or Over Weight Which Isnt Healthy Dying At A Early Age Is A Better Choice Then Spending Less Money . Therefore The Risk Outweighs The Industrail Food Chain

Dr. Tranchino

The risk does outweigh the benefits of the industrial food because more bad things are happening than the good. The text states, " The fertilizer winds up poisoning the ocean" (pg. 34). This shows how because 1 good thing can make more than 1 bad thing. Also, "Because of this, the Naylors don't drink the well water on their farm" (pg. 34). This shows how the fertilizer can affect the people on the farm.

Industrial food

The risk outweigh the benefits of the industrial food chain because in the book "the omnivores dilemma        The author talks about "7% of kids ages 6-19 are obese" .

Dr. Cuevas

The risks outweigh the benefits because the industrial has lots of bad things. the book states " 7% of kids ages 6-19 are obese".this show that the risk of cheap food is that people buy it more and eat it causing obesity.also another risk is that food has GMO which is not all good and it is unnatural.

DR. Sanyang

the risks outweigh the benefits of industrial food chain because in the book Michael pollen talks about the "meat being big and cheap but that  doesn't mean is good. And the meat has bacteria." This shows that the meat are really not healthy for people.

Dr.belton industrial food

Yes I think the risk outweigh the benefits of the industrial food chain because human body's are in danger.the texted states ," 7% of kids ages 6-19 are obese"(p.76) .this shows the amount of sugar people are eating is killing them also leading to disease.the texted also sates ," they believe that good are a reckless experiment with the natural order of things ." This shows gross are in people food and it is a resk of our body being damaged ๐Ÿ™€๐Ÿ˜Ÿ๐Ÿ˜ฆ๐Ÿ˜ง๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ‘ฅ๐Ÿ’”

Dr.Hassan : industrial food

The risks outweigh the benefits of the industrial food chain is not good beacuse there food is not healthier and there bacteria inside the food and meat is Cheaper the text state " the feedlot are also breeding grounds for new deadly bacteria.some of these bacteria are finding their way into our food "
"As corn took over family farm cows and other animal were pushed out''๐Ÿฎ

Dr.Rubiera Industrial Food

The risks outweigh the benefits of the industrial food chain because they are much more dangerous and important to us. Farmers should be more careful not to make mistakes about what to feed animals because the text states"Then people in England began dying of a sickness called mad cow disease" This shows how this is something bad because people die for the cause of a disease from meat. He also says "But in a CAFO they are forced to eat corn-at considerable cost to their health, to the health of the land, and ultimately to the health of us, their eaters." This shows that they try and make us healthier by feeding animals corn but that's what makes them sick because its not what they're used to eating....

Dr. Perez: Industrial food 7

The risks outweigh the benefits of the industrial food chain by being more people overweight. The text states " when food is abundant and cheap people will eat more of it." 77. The text also states " 7% of kids ages 6-19 are obese." 76. This shows the risk overweigh the benefits because the cheaper the food is the more people will buy it.

Industrial Food

The risks do not outweigh the benefits of the industrial food chain, because the chances when it could be negative doesn't sound good bc I wouldn't take the risks of getting profit gaining from something

Dr.wright

The risk outweighs the benefits. Be seen like he said the meat might be cheaper but but it has Bactria and it's easier to catch disease

Dr.Flores Industrial Food

The risks outweigh the benefits of the industrial food because there are more bad effects than good. For example there would be one benefit and there would be a lot of risks coming from that one benefit.

Dr.Wellington : industrial food

No there even but actual the risks do out weigh the benefits

Industrial Food Chain

their are many rick and benefits of the industrial food chain because the author said in the first parts of chapter 8 that their is more and more calories and that the food is so cheap and now i know why it is because of the stuff the farmers put in it witch is extra calories and that is what makes the food bad.

Monday, March 2, 2015

Dr. Darling Industrial food chain

The industrial food chain positives and negatives. One positive is that low fat is cheaper than they used to be.One negative is that because of low fat being cheaper we are buying more of it which is not healthy.

Dr.Fana

The risk and benefits of the industrial food chain is that the food sometimes has things in it that we don't know about like weird chemicals.also,a benefit is that is cost cheaper.also, the food could be bad for your health.finally, the people can make more money

Dr. Cuevas

The industrial food chain has many benefits and negatives.negatives of industrial food chain is that these factories make an abundance of food for a low price causing us yo eat more of it " when food is abundant and cheap, people will eat more of it". Also some benefits is that HFCS is everywhere in food and it is a sweetener for our foods

Dr.Hassan ๐Ÿ’ซ Industrial Food Chain

the risks and benefits of the industrial food chain the percentage of obese children oh age 6-19 based on calories on McDonald French fries you've consumed a entire days worth of calories in sweet liquefied corn.✨A sweet deal to eat the industry that adding in our food increase the mount that we eat

Dr.Simo Industrial Food Chain ๐Ÿ˜œ

The Risk & Benefits Of The Industrial Food Chain Is That A Lot Of. Our Food May Have Fat & Calories That May Affect Us & Many Kids From Ages 6-19 Become Obiste Or Over Weight

Dr.Wellington: the industrial food chain

the industrial food chain has its advantages and disadvantages because children from 6-19 start being obease from a really young age

Dr. Perez: Industrial food chain

The risks and benefits if the industrial food chain is that some foods can have alot of calories and can harm us. Also kids from ages 6-19 are becoming overweight

mr.coulibaly

the thing i have learned about part  7 is that we people eat junk food and its
bad for owner heath and also eating these bad food can make bad causes like
diabetes.and these thing can also affect children can give them diabetes. another
thong is that it effects risk of the food chain because it can make people not eat the
rite food and these things are causing it because of people not going out and saying
indoor because of technology.

Dr.Fana

today i ate salad chocolate milk and cheesesticks

d.r ortiz: homework

well i red chapter 3 and the author point of view is that fertilizer is bad and good  . the reason why the author says that fertilizer is bad is because it helps the plant grow but at the same time it is killing some of the things the plant needs. But the text States that now a days  how mos farmers use fertilizer to make their plants grow faster.

Wednesday, February 25, 2015

Dr. Cuevas

The Authors viewpoint of the fertilizers is that it is bad .farmers use "materials that are included in bombs" and out them in our food as fertilizers. Also "The Dirt with the fertilizers go In the river which go to the ocean". This show the bad viewpoints of fertilizers

dr. jamila: nitrogen rich fertilizer

what was the authors viewpoint of nitrogen rich fertilizer-
the authors viewpoint is that he did not expect corn to be so unnatural and fertilized so much with nitrogen because the text states "they say you only need a hundred pounds per acre. i am putting on closer to one hundred eighty"this shows apart from nitrogen in corn extra is added in it and that it was dangerous because it could lead to global warming "some of it turns into nitrous oxide, a gas that that increases global warming.

Dr. Darling Fertilizer

The authors perspective of fertilizer is not a positive perspective. The text states, "The fertilizer winds up poisoning the ocean".This shows the fertilizer poisons the ocean and that is not a good thing. The text also states," it turns into nitrous oxid " Because of this global warming increases.

Dr.hassan:fertilizer

the authors viewpoint of nitrogen rich fertilizer it bed because a substance that kills insects corn grow from seeds with different trait and grassy fields where animal can graze and also plan of action, oil more productive and less wast fuel the text state " it also helped start the pesticide industry since insect killers are based on poison gases developed for the war'' "the factory farm produces more food much faster than the old solar based farm.but the system only works as long as fossil fuel energy is cheap"this show that some farm is bed because" farm produces more food much faster than be old .

Dr. Tranchino: Fertilizer

The author's perspective on nitrogen/fertilizer is bad. The text states, "Some of it turns into nitrous oxide, a gas that increases global warming". Also, "The fertilizer winds up poisoning the ocean". As a summary the author's perspective on fertilizer is bad.

Dr.Fana

I ate teddy Graham's and chicken and french fries with Pepsi

dr amin: what i ate today

breakfast-juice box
lunch-sandwich and chocolate milk
dinner-chicken soup

Dr.Barriola : Corn

Today for breakfast I ate plantains and fried cheese
for a snack I ate Doritos
I didn't really have lunch so I just ate french fries with a iced coffee with caramel
and cereal for dinner < Don't judge me I just wasn't really that hungry

How much of it had corn in it?

Well in the Doritos there a lot of corn because they are corn chips , french fries don't really have corn because they are potatoes and I don't believe coffee has corn either , cereal has corn in it it's basically a  mini corn chip with A LOT of sugar.

Kellogg's Frosted Flakes® cereal

Milled corn, sugar, contains 2% or less of malt flavor, salt, BHT for freshness.
Vitamins and Minerals: Iron, vitamin C (ascorbic acid and sodium ascorbate), niacinamide, vitamin B6 (pyridoxine hydrochloride), vitamin B2 (riboflavin), vitamin B1 (thiamin hydrochloride), vitamin A palmitate, folic acid, vitamin D, vitamin B12.

Dr. Tranchino: Corn

I ate a Big Mac from McDonald's with a large soda.

I noticed that the buns had corn syrup and the soda had corn too

Dr.Rubiera: What I ate Today

BREAKFAST: Bread and cheese
LUNCH: Burger
DINNER:Lasagna

I'm not sure about how much of what I ate today had corn in it but according to my knowledge I think that maybe the meat of the burger had corn in t because in the book it said about how farm animals ate corn. Lasagna also has meat so it contains corn but Idk about the Bread and cheese maybe the bread.

Dr.Barriola : Food Chain

Today for breakfast I ate plantains and fried cheese
For lunch I ate pizza
For dinner I ate rice and beans and beef

What is a food chain ?

A food chain is a cycle in witch you can see who ate whom and what eats what next, like  for example : A cow eats  corn and that corn fed off of the sun light and that cow who ate that corn gets killed and made into a cheese burger and me as a person ate that cheese burger so I just ate the cow who ate the corn who fed of the sun light .

What are two differences between Pollan’s four food chains?

The distance in where the crops are grown and where they are sold  and how they grow the crops, for  example the industrial food chain is where most of our food comes today , it is grown in griant fields in the Midwest. Industrial organic in the other hand is grown on large industrial farms with ONLY natural fertilizer  and natural bug and weed control, but are sold the same way as industrial foods. Now Local sustainable is grown in small farms that raise lots of different kinds of corps and animals, these foods do not need to be processed. Hunter gatherer is the oldest food chain and isn't sold in supermarkets it's basically hunting your food, growing it yourself or finding your food.

What food chain does your food mostly come from?

Well it all is mainly corn because the cow eats the corn and pizza Dow is made of corn and cheese has some what amount of corn in it so my food source would come from the industrial food chain.

DR.ORTIZ: food chains

                  ANTHONY ORITZ                                                                                           804
well what i ate today was

                 breakfast: oatmeal with toast

                   lunch:salad with meet

dinner: i ate 3 sandwich ham and cheese turkey and cheese  and butternut

So i believe that that is their is about 87% of corn in every thing that i ate today .

Dr. Perez: Corn

Breakfast: Orange juice and waffles
Lunch: Apple
Dinner: Rice with chicken and beans

I think the waffles had some corn the chicken and the beans

Dr.Hassan

what i ate today? i ate today for Breakfast-egg and bagel and juice. lunch- burger, apple, chocolate milk.Dinner-Rice and chicken, juice.today food. what i had ate is from corn, oil.
everything is from corn like meat, food, drinks.

Dr.Wellington : Corn

What i ate today ?
Breakfast: mac and cheese
Lunch: burger,apple, caprison
Dinner: fries and nuggets, glass of apple juice

Reflection : that our food is basically made up of corn and is the main ingredient in most of our food and how corn came about

Dr. Otomo: Corn

What I ate today:
Breakfast- Bowl of Kellogg's Special K yogurt cereal with cup of organic whole milk
Lunch- Bulgogi (korean beef) with whole grain rice and onions, can of ginger ale
Snack: Doritos
Dinner: TBD

After looking up the ingredients in the food I've eaten so far, corn was in my cereal, ginger ale and Doritos in the form of corn, corn oil, corn syrup, and corn flour.

Dr. Belton food chains

The differences between the food chains are industrial is a single crop sold in supermarket and fast food.industrail organic is natural fertilizers natural buy and weed control, and industrail food.local sustainable is multiple crops animals,no processing/chemicals small frams ,travel short distance.hunter gather is the oldest type of food chain,it's made up of us.we hunt grow and find food .

Dr.ramales food chains

The difference between the food chains are that some chains are fresh and organic food but some are not fresh food

Dr. Villaman๐Ÿ’ฏ๐Ÿ’ฐ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ’ž

"Food Chains"
The difference between the food chains is that there are 4 different characteristics, Industrial,Industrial Organic, Local Sustainable, Hunter-Gatherer. All 4 food chain will be the same at the end of the meal. Organic in the other hand is more healthy than normal greasy food that will become fat in u✊

Dr. Ortiz: food chains

The difference between the 4food Chains is that one had fast foods and is mads in huge  farms. An other difference is that the farmers use natural bug and weed control. And the other difference with  the food chains is that they use small farms and use different crops

Dr.coulibaly

What is the difference between food chains?

The difference between food chains is that they have their own courts. Like how
They have there own heathy did like meet is from animals and sale is from the grown
Grown from a seed. For me I would say that food chains is we're you taste different
Thing that not the the same and have different tester.

The food chain that most ate and came from is courts number one
Because mostly I eat junk food and it has a good tastes and its
Very surgery for kids and also I would eat thing like chicken and
Pizza also the things that have  more surgery. But I think that
I eat these things because some times the way they look like
Our how you taste it before. Our it some thing new.

Dr. Hassan - Food chains

The different  between the food chains that  start in a giant filed and natural bug, natural fertilizer  ,small farm and also doesn't need to be processed the different each has its Own section and fast food restaurant. And to different ways

Dr.Fana

Based on all the food I ate this week the food chain most of my food came from is industrial.

Dr.Rubiera Food Chains

The difference between the food chains is that they have different kinds of ways to get your food on your plate because they come from different farms and locations. Some are healthier than others and that makes them different. They are also some that are more natural than others.

Dr.amin: food chain

-what is the difference between the food chains?
The difference between food chains was that some where naturally made while some where processed and had different ways they were made and in kind of sizes and kinds of fields and farms

-looking at what you ate over the vacation, which food chain does most your come from?
Most of my food come from local sustainable

Dr.Flores Vacation diet

Based  on all the food that I ate this week most of the food came from the industrial food chain

Dr.Fana

The difference between the food chains is how they grow the crops.also, how they are sold.finally, how they are delivered

Dr.Flores Food chains

what is the difference between the food chains??

The difference between the food chains is that the foods that they all grow, grow differently and may taste different based on what they put in the fruit ,if at all

Dr.Decosta: first thought

What I ate today :
Breakfast-nothing

What is my reaction to what we learned About food today ?

My reaction to what we learned about food was that I was never gonna eat chicken nuggets today . I didn't know that they make meals out of the bones and tissues of the chicken. I didn't expect all that all that would be in something I eat that's really good.

Dr. Ortiz: First Thoughts

I did not eat any thing this morning because I was rushing to school. My reaction to food is that I got to each out on what I eat. You have to eat helthey now adays to stay fit. Especially if you play sports

Dr. Sanyang: Food Chain

The meaning of food chain is how different types of living things have to eat other living things in order to survive. for example humans eat some chicken and meat because that's what they do.
my food comes from industrial organic.

The difference between food chains is that they have different ways of being raised. For example industrial has one crop while local sustainable has many crops.

A food chain is a chain were you deside which food are good for you to eat and. Which food aren't good for you to eat and you now that by wait they have in there food.I think that Michael pollan resides wait food you should eat and which you should'not  because of your heath. Or because of wait it as in the ingredients.

food chain

a food chain is human, animals plants. like build from living  things to another and  also food transfer by eating or being eating. and source of food . different and also a type of food four meals food and the way they get make it and what get use for food to cook inside the food also using chemical machine to made a food with

the difference between pollan's four food chain is a fields where food grow and followed each step way of food and see our food way to our stomachs and i think also how food is going steps making growing  and had different food that is natural and that is not natural

I think the meaning of Omnivore's Dilemma is...

Dr. Villaman: Food Chain

People don't know where they food comes from but just buy them at the supermarket & eat it. But as soon as they look it up trust me they will stop eating it but start eating it organic food. They are many chemicals going around fruits, vegetables & food.

Dr. Rubiera Food Chains

The meaning of the title of the book, "The Omnivore's Dilemma" is that humans are the omnivores who eat plants or anything else but we eat anything that is good and we have supermarkets to pick out food but we don't know where it comes and we think its safe so we eat it cuz it's good food "supposedly" so that's the dilemma.

Dr. Darling๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒš food chain

What is the meaning of the tittle of the book,"the Omnivore's Dilemma"?
Based on what we discussed in class the book talks about all the food u can eat.

The meaning of omnivores dilemma is that people like to eat foods like chicken nuggets and know that they are bad but don't care and eat it because it taste good for them

Dr. Jamila: Food Chains

Based on the reading and discussion in today's class, what is the meaning of the title of the book, "the omnivores dilemma"?
I think the meaning of "omnivores dilemma" means all the things we eat, we eat veggies, fruit, meat and water. We have a lot of choices of what to eat. It simply means what we eat.

Dr. Ortiz: Food Chains

What I think that omnivores dilemma means like a problem that the author had about what he should eat and what he should not eat. Tho stay fit and helthey. Also because I know that deal a means a people.and I know that omnivore means that you eat a lot.

    Brake home work

What I ate over the brake was lots of helthey things And non helthey things. I had rice beans salad tacos oatmeal bacon toast. Now what  I am about to eat is cranberry pork chops with potatoes and corn.

Dr. Faรฑa: Food Chains

The title means that food doesn't always have what they say its made of so u never know if its bad or good

Dr. Coulibaly- Food Chains

The thing that I have leaned is that the meaning of the book is that omnivore food is more heathy and not because one of the food that we eat we don't. Now we're it came from and the food the we eat We need to lean more about our food and how it's Made. We can look at the ingredients..

From: Lanseny Coulibaly

Dr.Valera : Food Chains

I think that the meaning of this book's title  and the discussion that my table and i had was that " we have a thousand choices of food in our super markets, but we dont really know where pur food comes from ....." This shows how it makes us change te delemma of what we eat .
Omnivores mean that you eat everything

Dr.wright food chain

I say they name it omnivores dilemma because we got to chose what we want to eat and make good choices

Dr.hernandez๐Ÿ•

The meaning of the title of "Omnivores Dilemma" is to show how people eat certin things such as only plants

Food chains

The meaning of the little of the book is about food if healthiest or not and also how food made with machine and they using chemical machine and how food is safe and clean that make you healthiest

Dr.Simo Food Chains ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ’€

The Book Omnivores Dilemma Means People Can Eat Plants & Meat But There's A Big Problem Or Dilemma Because We Can Eat Anything We Want But How Do We Know What We Eat ? That's The Problem  Now We Have Thousands Of Choices Made For Us By Experts . Things Have Changed Over Time People Would Hunt & Plant Their Food But Now It's Done For Us & We Don't Know Or Care About How It's Made . ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Dr.Flores

The omnivores dilemma means that maybe the author doesn't want to eat meat anymore because of where it came from and what the farmers do to it
The author where the food cam and how they made and grow from som fram

What is my reaction to what we learned about food today?
My reaction about what we learned about food is that the food that we eat and that we think that is so good is the  stuff that we usally don't want to eat and what we think is nasty and disgusting.Since, now I know what is in the chicken nuggets I would like to eat less of that.I wonder if their cheeseburger are also made the same way nor have the "ingredients"

The company will never tell you what is it made out of nasty stuff. Now I will have to search up what chemical and how is it mad with what other food is it made with. Other's don't notice but some food we eat is has chemical that is used for others stuff.

What I ate today
Breakfast: What I ate today for breakfast was egg waffles and orange juice
Lunch: Tostitos and water.
Dinner: Rice with chicken and salad

What is my reaction to what we learned about food today?

My reaction to what we learned today about food today is that some foods have a lot of ingredients.
For example Doritos can have a lot of ingredients like onion powder and oil. Also chicken nuggets can have a lot of calories. Other people can learn from this because they can learn how much calories from food.

Dr. Darling

What I ate today
Breakfast: i ate nothing for breakfast
lunch: tostitos
dinner: 2 cheese burgers, fries and soda

What is my reaction to what we learned about food today?
At first it all seemed nasty to me but then I realized the food is good when
its cooked soooooo........ yup.

Dr. Otomo: First Thoughts

What I ate today:

Breakfast- 1 cup of 2% milk, 1 strawberry yogurt
Lunch- Spaghetti with tomato sauce, 2 cartons of white milk
Dinner-

When I eat, usually I don't have a lot of time to think about it. If it looks good, I'll get it at the grocery store or at whatever restaurant I happen to stop by. What I eat is determined by what's around where I live or what's on the way home.

It scares me to think about the things I'm not eating. The fact that chlorine, which is a chemical in pools, is in my body is gross. I wonder how chemicals like that affect me long term. How many times have I actually read the labels of food? I don't even know. Maybe I should start paying attention to it more. I think I would have to have a plan or even a schedule for what I eat and when I'd eat it.
