The risk does outweigh the benefits of the industrial food because more bad things are happening than the good. The text states, " The fertilizer winds up poisoning the ocean" (pg. 34). This shows how because 1 good thing can make more than 1 bad thing. Also, "Because of this, the Naylors don't drink the well water on their farm" (pg. 34). This shows how the fertilizer can affect the people on the farm.
